THE DIFFERENCE A BRUSH MAKES! - ESSIE MARSHMALLOW

Last night I decided to try a different brush with my Essie Marshmallow polish. As I told you last time I mentioned this polish the brush was very small/thin and did not apply the polish the way I would expect from Essie. So yesterday I used the brush from another white-ish Essie polish I own (Allure), and the difference was massive. The polish applied so much smoother, there were no air bubbles, and it applied more opaque than it did using the thinner brush.

Now, I want to mention that I googled "Essie nail polish brushes" and came across this blog post by Lifestajler. She mentions that the difference in brushes isn't because one is from the Essie drugstore range, but rather because one is European and the other is American. Thankfully (for me) the polishes with the wider brushes are European, and the thinner brushes are (apparently) from the US. So basically I ordered polish online and wound up with a US polish, which explains the thinner brush.

So to round up this post; if you live in Europe and you want the wider brush, make sure to buy it in store rather than online, because you don't know what polish you'll end up with. If you happen to be American or from outside of Europe you can probably buy polishes with the wider brush from a more high end store. But I'm not sure about that, so google it. ☺

Hi
I am reading blogs about Essie nail polishes from US and Europe. I am a huge Essie fan but here in Estonia we dont have Essie. So that makes Essie polish hard to get. I have ordered many Essies from Ebay (US versions)and i m so disappointed because it has this small narrow brush, colour is sometimes plane and ingredient differences (first is smell, EU version does not smell like US version). I like Essie EU version better but its so hard to get. Nearest place is from ship (Viking Line)but then you have to travel to Finland. Price is also high but for me EU version is the best. It lasts longer as well. Where do you get your Essies ?

All the best,
Helen

Hi Helen,
Sweden sells Essie polishes in regular makeup stores so they're very easy to get your hands on. When I got the US polish I had ordered it online, which is why I recommend buying it from a store instead of online so you can look at the brush before you buy it. In your case that will be very difficult, but I suggest that when you buy from Ebay or similar sites you look at the seller review ssand only buy from sellers who have been graded high.

Thanks for commenting and good luck!

Useful info! I've just received some with a thin brush too (I'm in the UK where we usually get wide brushes too) so doing my research!
