I know I'm late to hop on the train with this polish, If I'm not mistaken it came out late in 2013. Now I've had this polish for about a year but never got around to wearing it until recently. Probably because I only wear colors this dark in the fall/winter. Anyway, moving on to the review part of this post. ☺
Rating: ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ (3/5) | So this polish is a "Créme Gloss" formula, which means that it dries glossy on it's own with no top coat. I personally don't think that this polish dries any glossier than my other nail polishes. When it comes to application this polish is very thin, I find that the formula is runnier than most of my other OPI polishes and I definitely need a minimum of three coats for full opacity. Personally I prefer to give this polish four coats for the best results. |
As far as color goes this polish is definitely one of my current favorites. It's a very deep red that almost looks black until you put it next to something that is actually black, that's when you realize that it's not actually black, but a deep burgundy red. And God knows I love it. ♥
Rating this polish was a little hard for me, because there's so much I just don't like about the formula; it's thin, it's streaky, it needs at least three coats for full opacity (but looks it's very best with four), and due to the fact that it needs four coats it dries slowly. At first I was going to give it a solid two star rating, but the fact that I love the color so much just pumps up the rating enough for it to get a three. Would I recommend that you buy it? Probably not. There are other colors like it (many people suggest "Wicked" from Essie), and I would personally prefer this color with the regular formula.
