Good morning everyone. It's Friday and the sun is shining! Last night I decided to give myself a Mani/Pedi and thought I'd share what polishes I used and what I think of them, like a mini review. ☺ I used Resort Fling on my toes, and Marshmallow on my fingernails. Check my instagram for pictures. ☺
Anyway, let's start with Resort Fling. It's a beautiful coral/peachy color, and I might even go as far as to say that it's the perfect pedicure color for summer. The consistency of the polish is nothing less than what you'd expect from Essie; creamy, easy to apply, and with the wide brush it's completely fool proof. I got this from a store which I think is preferable. But I'll go on to explain why further down. ☺ Rating: ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ (5/5) |
Marshmallow is a great color. It's a muted/milky white that doesn't look overwhelming or tippex-y on the nails. I bought this polish online and realized when I got it that the brush is much thinner than my other Essie Polishes, and this made it more difficult to apply. Formula wise I didn't notice much of a difference, but the brush (unfortunately) brings down the rating. I do like the color though so I do recommend it. Rating: ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ (3/5) |
Ok, so moving on to why I think it's a good idea to buy your polish from a shop rather than online. Essie makes two ranges of polishes, one which is intended for professionals/manicurists and one that is intended to be sold to the public. I'm not entirely sure what the difference is because, from what I've noticed, Sweden sells the professional ones in stores. But if I were to take a guess, I think that the Marshmallow polish is from the public range. Reason being that the brush is much thinner than those of my other Essie polishes. I find that the thinner brush makes the polish more difficult to apply, and it didn't dry as evenly as I'd like. I am tempted to buy Marshmallow from a store just to see if the wider brush makes a difference, but I'm pretty sure it does.
Anyway, to sum up: Essie makes great polishes that I really love. I personally like Essie better than, for example, O.P.I and also they're a little bit cheaper, which I really like. ☺
